Highland & Moray Accredited Training Services (HiMATS) is a voluntary led training organisation working throughout Highland and Moray.

Mission

HiMATS will deliver high quality, accessible learning and support programmes enabling individuals to develop their capabilities to shape their future and contribute to the development of their organisations and communities.


HiMATS offers a range of qualifications for staff working with children and families together with more generic qualifications in Management, Team Leading, including the Assessor and Internal Verifier Awards and PC Passport.

We works closely with Highland Council to deliver Scottish Qualification Awards (SQA) accredited Qualifications in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and Playwork to practitioners who need to meet the registration requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and with Skills Development Scotland to deliver Modern Apprenticeships to young school-leavers entering the Childhood Practice Profession.

HiMATS also delivers short courses based around National Units at introductory (for those entering the profession) and Continuing Professional Development (for qualified practitioners) Levels.

In addition to SQA accredited training HiMATS offers First Aid Training for Practitioners, Parents and Children.
