There is no question that in the industry that is professional football, the number one purpose of a Youth Development Team at any club is, and should be, to produce the best young footballers possible.

With the debate on this issue short and unopposed from all quarters the 2nd priority and responsibility is to provide these young players with an education that will aid
their development as a player within football and as a person outwith the game.
The Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in ‘Excellence in Sport’ is a vehicle that will provide players with the tools they require to be a conscientious, intelligent and employable person.
