Scottish Meat Training (SMT) is the wholly owned subsidiary Training Company of the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders Associations (SFMTA), centrally based in Perth, with a team of peripatetic assessors and Internal Verifier employed to ensure that certificated training is undertaken to develop the potential of the individual and to increase the skills level within the Meat Industry.
Scottish Meat Training believe educating a new generation in the specialist skills of our trade is vital – and we are providing structured training programmes using the Meat and Poultry Processing SVQ’s and Food and Drink Manufacturing Operations SVQ’s resulting in recognised qualifications for all those entering our industry and also for our existing workforce in both the wholesale and retail sectors.
