Train Shetland

Train Shetland is part of Shetland Islands Council's education service. We are currently managing over 140 modern apprenticeships throughout Shetland for a wide range of employers. We sub-contract with colleges to provide training and usually have over 35 different programmes in demand by employers. We support young people in finding employment with training, and with their travel and college arrangements for the duration of each apprenticeship.


Our committment has beem demonstrated by various awards won over the years: SQA Gold Award 2004, 2005 & 2006, and also Training Provider of the Year Award 2003. One of our client companies won the Small Employer of the Year Award 2010.



Over the past 3 years, we have run the STEP undergraduate summer placement scheme in Shetland (formally Shell Step).
