SUMMARY:Cyber Resilience Working Group
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Skills Development Scotland\, STF is looking for its members to participate in a new Working Group to ensure that training providers are fully supported in embedding cyber resilience training. \nMembers of the Working Group will help to drive these initiatives and also represent the needs of independent training providers on this important issue. \nThe launch of the new Working Group follows on from the 2018 Scottish Government’s Cyber Resilience Learning and Skills Action Plan  which calls for greater collaboration to strengthen and further embed understanding of cyber resilience across our education and lifelong learning system. \nWorking Group meetings will last approximately two hours and take place every couple months\, with the first meeting being held at the City and Guilds offices in Glasgow on Friday 19 July 2019 from 10am to 12pm. \nIf you are interested in joining the Working Group\, please contact Laura McEwan at SDS on laura.mcewan@sds.co.uk  or  Stuart McKenna at STF on stuart.mckenna@stf.org.uk no later than Friday 12 July 2019. \nMore details.

DESCRIPTION:This workshop will cover two topics: \nScottish Apprenticeship Awards 2019 & SDS Marketing Support \nThe Scottish Apprenticeship Awards is the annual event to celebrate the best in apprenticeships. Nominations are now open – closing in June – and we can share advice\, hints and tips about best practice to ensure your entry stands out from the crowd. This session will talk you through how to get your nomination noticed\, new categories and what judges will be looking for when scoring entries. \nWe will also cover how to get involved in other national campaigns to promote apprenticeships; marketing support available all-year-round and developments on apprenticehips.scot \nScottish Apprenticeship Advisory Board (SAAB) Defining an Apprenticeship Consultation – what happens next?* \nThe SAAB consultation on Apprenticeships – held in late 2017 – asked for feedback on a range of issues including setting a minimum duration for each Apprenticeship Framework\, end assessment and the merits of mandatory off the job training.
