Skills Development Scotland (SDS) will shortly be commissioning for 2018-20 Foundation Apprenticeship delivery. As in previous years, SDS will be commissioning delivery through a Competitive Funding Offer process, open to all Scottish colleges and local authorities as lead bidders for submissions.
To meet expansion ambitions in volumes, across regions and available FA Frameworks, this year bidders will be required to demonstrate how they will develop and strengthen regional delivery partnerships. Regional delivery partnerships will be needed to ensure the capacity and expertise is in place to meet the scaling ambitions across regions for 2018-20. Commissioning will include questions on regional delivery partners.
To strengthen regional partnership delivery, colleges and local authorities may invite other private training providers with the necessary experience, capacity and capability to work with them. As Public authorities, college and local authority lead bidders will be required to follow their own governance and standing order processes to select consortia delivery partners /sub-contractors.
SDS is keen to engage with STF members to raise awareness of the plans for the commissioning process in order to support interaction and discussion of opportunities to be involved in Foundation Apprenticeships regional partnerships / consortia for 2018-20 delivery.
STF members are invited to attend a workshop from 10.00-12.00 on Monday 14 August, at Mercure Hotel, 201 Ingram Street, Glasgow. The workshop will be led by Diane Greenlees, Head of Foundation and Graduate Level Apprenticeships, Skills Development Scotland.
