Dr Lesley Sawers, Executive Chair, GenAnalytics Ltd
Lesley is Executive Chair of GenAnalytics a specialised analytical and market insights consultancy focused on the area of business performance improvement linked to diversity and equality in the workplace.
She has over thirty years’ experience working in the private and public sector on business and economic strategy, change management and strategic consultancy including as Vice Principal for Business, Enterprise and Innovation at Glasgow Caledonian University and Chief Executive of the Scottish Council for Development and Industry, Scotland’s leading economic development think-tank. She has also held senior leadership positions at ScottishPower, Royal Mail, and VisitScotland and was the first female Chief Executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.
She was appointed UK Equalities and Human Rights Commissioner for Scotland in 2016 and is also the Deputy Chair of the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and a Trustee of Glasgow Life.
Lesley was commissioned by the UK Government, Scotland Office, to undertake an independent review into the “Role and Contribution of Women to the Scottish Economy”, which was published in 2015.
Lesley has a degree in Economics from the University of Glasgow, a PhD from the University of Stirling and Honorary Doctorates from both Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Strathclyde. She is also an Honorary Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University.
