€187 million of European Commission funding will be available to United Kingdom education and youth organisations in 2019 through the Erasmus+ programme.
The figure, up from €170m this year, was revealed when the Commission published the Erasmus+ 2019 Call for applications.
Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. The programme provides funding for life-changing international opportunities. Through Erasmus+ funding:
- Young people can study, volunteer and gain work experience abroad – to develop new skills, raise their aspirations, and boost their employability
- Teachers, education staff and youth-workers can teach or train abroad – to develop their professional practice, build relationships with international peers, and share ideas and knowledge
- UK organisations can collaborate with international partners – to share best practice and drive innovation in education and youth work.
