The Enginuity Technical Solutions Team is currently undertaking a UK-wide review of three cross-sector National Occupational Standards (NOS):
- Complying with Statutory Regulations and Organisational Safety Requirements
- Using and Interpreting Engineering Data and Documentation
- Working Efficiently and Effectively in Engineering
These standards play an important role in defining the skills, knowledge and understanding required to achieve occupational competence and underpin a wide range of vocational qualifications and apprenticeship programmes across the UK.
As part of the review process, we are seeking feedback from employers, training providers, awarding organisations, professional bodies and other interested stakeholders to help ensure the standards remain current, accurate and aligned with modern industry practices.
Remote Consultation Events
We will be hosting two online stakeholder consultation meetings via Microsoft Teams:
Wednesday 21st October 2026 10:00 – 11:00
Wednesday 25th November 2026 10:00 – 11:00
These sessions will provide an opportunity to:
- Discuss the current content of the standards.
- Identify any outdated practices, technologies or references.
- Highlight emerging industry requirements and future skills needs.
- Share feedback and recommendations directly with the review team.
If you would like to attend either of the consultation events, please register your interest by emailing:
Please indicate which session you wish to attend and a Microsoft Teams invitation will be issued closer to the event date.
NOS Feedback Form
In addition to the consultation meetings, feedback can be submitted at any time via our Microsoft Forms feedback questionnaire. The form has been designed to capture comments and suggestions relating to all three National Occupational Standards currently under review and can be completed whether or not you attend one of the consultation events.
We encourage stakeholders to provide detailed feedback on areas including technical accuracy, relevance, completeness, workplace applicability and any opportunities for improvement.
Please Share
We would be grateful if you could circulate this invitation to colleagues, employers, training providers, professional bodies, industry representatives or any other individuals and organisations who may have an interest in the development and use of these National Occupational Standards either through your news channels or directly.
The success of the review relies on broad industry engagement and we welcome participation from stakeholders across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
