Lisa has a passion for supporting young people into the right career path for them. Leaving school at 16 with no higher qualifications, she went onto complete an apprenticeship and
then complete higher qualifications at night school, while working full time.
This led to Lisa’s career pathway, and she has now worked in training and education for the past 15 years across a variety of Skills Development Scotland contracts in a variety of roles.
Working with Learndirect for 6 years and was involved in several different contracts including Modern Apprenticeships, Employability Fund and Individual Training Accounts, managing assessors and an employer engagement team.
Her next role was at Tennent’s Training Academy, where she was the Head of Operations. As well as managing Individual Learning Accounts and the transitions to Individual training Accounts, she also managed the commercial employability arm of the business; working with schools and local authorities in Glasgow.
In her next role with Glasgow Kelvin College Lisa managed the Foundation Apprenticeship Contract for the 3 colleges; Glasgow Kelvin, City of Glasgow and Clyde as well as 3 local authorities; Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire, with an SDS and DYW representative part of the consortium as well. The Glasgow Region continued to grow in numbers and frameworks on offer, year on year and with Foundation Apprenticeships being a key component of the overall education offer in Scotland.
Lisa is currently the Graduate Apprenticeship Project Manager at Heriot Watt University.
