Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is inviting proposals to deliver Foundation Apprenticeships (FA) across Scotland for participants commencing in academic year 2019. Details have been published on the PCS web site.
The estimated value for Phase 2 in the current notice is for 1,860 FA starts. SDS may use these places to contract for a higher volume to ensure achievement of the 5,000 target overall for Phase 1 and 2.
Delivery of each framework will require a partnership/sub-contractor or consortium approach to ensure delivery in line with regional demand. All arrangements will need to bring together Colleges, Local Authorities, Schools, Training Providers and Employers to support the ambitions of FA delivery across regions and frameworks for academic year 2019/21 for 2 year delivery and one year for shorter duration delivery FA programmes.
The target group is young people in senior phase of school/education in Scotland and there are 12 frameworks currently available for delivery.
